Hi, I'm Jen!

For nineteen years I worked for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, creators of research-based, internationally recognized programs for reading and spelling. During that time I worked one-on-one with students of all ages; trained and coached teachers and administrators; developed, wrote, and edited many of the books and materials that support the programs; and ultimately served as a Regional Director of Learning Centers.  

My passion for writing led me to Southern Illinois University where I taught English Composition, Creative Writing, Technical Writing and Intermediate Fiction. In addition to my work with students, I am an editor at SIU Press, where I work closely with authors to prepare their books for publication. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego, my Masters from New York University, and my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Southern Illinois University. Ever since I picked up my first Nancy Drew mystery, I've been a devoted reader, and most weekends find me relaxing in the sun, lost in a book.
